Saxovent acquires 76 MWp-Agri-PV-Project from Orrön Energy

Further step in expanding the regional portfolio and agri-PV expertise – strengthening the project pipeline and deepening of the northern strategy

Berlin, 4th August 2025 – Saxovent Renewables has signed an agreement with Orrön Energy’s project development subsidiary to acquire an agri-photovoltaic project with a planned capacity of 76 MWp. Located in north-eastern Germany, the project is designed as an agri-PV plant that combines solar power generation with agricultural use.

  • The 76 MWp project in north-eastern Germany has been acquired from Orrön Energy, securing a strategically important location for agri-photovoltaics early on.
  • The combination of solar power generation and agricultural use is planned, with sustainable land use being key to achieving greater acceptance in the region.
  • This is a further step in the expansion of the regional portfolio and agri-PV expertise, strengthening the project pipeline and the targeted deepening of the northern strategy.

This acquisition secures us a project with great potential in the agricultural PV segment at an early stage. This aligns with our objective of operating in all major sectors of renewable energy. Combining agricultural use with energy generation is essential for maximising land efficiency and ensuring the social acceptance of the energy transition at a local level.

Thorsten Freise – CEO of Saxovent Renewables

The project fits seamlessly into Saxovent Renewables’ growth strategy of continuously expanding its portfolio in all key market areas, both organically and through targeted acquisitions. By entering the agri-PV sector, the company is promoting a partnership-based approach that fosters equal interaction between all parties involved.

By acquiring this new agri-PV project, Saxovent is expanding its development capabilities and strengthening its regional presence in north-eastern Germany. In addition to its relevance to the energy industry, the project offers opportunities to cooperate with agricultural businesses, local authorities, and regional service providers, in line with Saxovent’s northern strategy, recently reinforced by the new Hanover location.

We are still looking for qualified employees, particularly in the areas of technical planning, commercial project management and the development of PV systems. At the same time, we would like to cooperate with local players – such as energy agencies, planning offices and universities – and drive forward the energy transition in a regional partnership.
